Abstract

ASE(accelerated solvent extraction) technology was applied to the extraction of antioxidant components. The antioxidant activities of ASE extracts from thirteen species tropical fruits were measured with DPPH(2,2-Diphenyl-1-picrylhydrasyl)radical scavenging assay, respectively. Results indicated that all of them had antioxidant activities, the DPPH radical scavenging activity of fruit was in sequence of Clausena lansium Chaenomeles sinensis Cocos nucifera Mangifera indica Ananas comosus Litchi chinensis Hylocereus spp.Garcinia mangostanaDimocarpus longanPsidium guajavaSyzygium.SamarangenseMusa paradisiacaArtocarpus heterophyllus. As a result,ASE technology combined with DPPH radical scavenging assay can be regarded as an efficiently and rapidly method of comparative analysis for antioxidant activity.
