Observation on the efficacy of using silicone nasolacrimal duct stent implantation for treating chronic dacryocystitis

Objective To explore the efficacy of using the nasolacrimal duct stent implantation for treating nasolacrimal duct obstruction and chronic dacryocystitis. Methods First use silica gel to make nasolacrimal duct stent,then by nasal implantation and lacrimal duct treatment to treat 31 cases of nasal lacrimal duct obstruction and chronic dacryocystitis who were under general anesthesia in the nasal mucosa.Results The average follow-up after operation was seven months,and there were 26 cases (83.37%) who had epiphora symptom removed,and acrimal duct patency washe,2 cases (6.45%) who still had epiphora symptom but lacrimal duct patency washed,total effective rate was 90.32%. Conclusion Silicone nasolacrimal duct stent implantation is an effective way to treat nasolacrimal duct obstruction and chronic dacryocystitis.
