Abstract
Objective To evaluate the effect of Lifein combined with chemotherapy in the treatment of malignant pleural effusiong and ascites.Method Of 36 cases,26 cases with malignant pleural effusion and 10 cases with ascites, after completely giving out pleural effusion were injected PDD 50 mg and Lifein 10 mg evey week, and injected MMC 10 mg or 5 FU 1000 mg and Lifein 10 mg after letting out a little ascites (2000 ml every time) two times every week. Results The effective rate in controlling pleural effusion was 92.3%,in controlling ascites was 60%.Conclusion Lifein can effectively control the malignant pleural effusion and ascites, reduce the side effects of chemotherapy, improve the effects of chemotherapy and the patient's quality of life.No serious toxicity of side effect was observed.
