Abstract

This article has briefly analyzed the heroine in A Rose for Emily written by William Faulkner. By way of the description and analysis of the title and Emily's life style and life experiences, especially connected with American Civil War and the American Southern reconstruction, we can regard that Emily is the victim of that time and a marginal person and a victim who lived in the past.
