Abstract

Purpose To investigate the clinic characteristic of hyperuricemia in type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods One thousand forty cases were divided into two groups according to their serum uric acid level. Fasting glucose(FPG) ,creatinin(Cr) ,cholesterol(CHO) , triglyceride(TG) ,blood pressure(BP) ,body mass index(BMI), fasting serum insulin(FINS) were measured and compared between the groups. Results Patients with hyperu-ricemia in type 2 diabetes had markedly higher BP, TG,Cr,BMI,FINS and HOMA-IR index than those with normal serum uric acid. Logistic regression analysis results suggested that DBP,TG,Cr were the independent risk factors of hyperuricemia in type 2 diabetes. Conclusions Patients with hyperuricemia in type 2 diabetes had a higer prevalence of hypertension, hypertriglyceridermia and dysfunction of renal;had a more tendency to insulin resistance.
