Abstract
A spectrophotometric method for the determination of trace amounts of molybdenum (Ⅵ) with 3'-methoxy-4'-hydroxy phenylflurone (MHPF) was studied. It was found that, MHPF formed an red 2:1 complex with molybdenum (Ⅵ) in the medium of HCl and in the presence of cetyl trimethylammoinum bromide (CTMAB).The apparent molar absorptivity is 1. 03×105L·mol-1·cm-1 at 520nm. Beer's law is obeyed for molybdenum (Ⅵ) in the range of 0-0. 48 mg / L.The method has been applied to the determination of molybdenum (Ⅵ) in food samplese with satisfactory results.
