Abstract
A spectrophotometric method for the determination of trace amounts of molybdenum with TMOPF was studied It was found that,in 0 16mol/L H 3PO 4 medium, molybdenum formed an orange 1∶1 complex with TMOPF in the presence of OP. The apparent molar absorptivity is 1 3×10 5L·mol -1 ·cm -1 at 525nm Beer’s law was obeyed for molybdenum in the range of 0-20μg/25mL The method has been satisfactorily applied to determine molybdenum* in steels due to its high selectivity
