EFFECTS OF COMBINATION OF RAMIPRIL,VALSARTAN AND CARVEDILOL ON AUTONOMIC NERVOUS SYSTEM FUNCTION IN CHRONIC HEART FAILURE

Abstract

ObjectiveTo evaluate the effects of combination of ramipril,valsartan and carvedilol on autonomic nervous system function in chronic heart failure(CHF) by studying heart rate variability(HRV).MethodsSeventy-four patients with CHF were treated with combination of ramipril,valsartan and carvedilol for six months.HRV index and left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF) were measured before and after treatment.The results were compared with those of 60 healthy controls.ResultsIn treated group,SDNN,SDANN,SDNNindex,RMSSD,PNN50,and LVEF were significantly lower than those in the control group(t=3.322-3.371,P0.001),and significantly improved after treatment(t=2.120-3.351;P0.001,0.05).(ConclusionCombinative) ramipril,valsartan and carvedilol may improve autonomic nervous system function in patients with chronic heart failure.
