On Current Problems in the Development of Ethnic Culture and Education with Countermeasures

Since the 1950’s,the modernization of ethnic culture and education in China has gone through two periods.On one hand,ethnic culture and education has developed towards modernization,and on the other hand,some problems have emerged which are mainly psychological inadaptability and mental confusion of ethnic members in the process of modernization and the reform of traditional ethnic culture.Therefore,in the process of protecting and developing ethnic culture,more concern should be given to the living state of members of ethnic groups who are the carriers of ethnic culture.Ethnic education should aim at the future,cultivate young people’s sense of multi-cultures and citizen consciousness and enhance education of national unity.
