A new interpretation of the character"tong童" in the Zhouyi

Abstract

The character tong童? appeared seven times in the Text of Zhouyi, yet, none of them can be inter-preted as its literal meanings of childish. Except the tong童? in the second line statement of Lu (the 56th hexagram in the received version of Zhouyi) is a noun, which should be interpreted as slave , all the other six tong童? are verbs and should be interpreted as to obliterate or to fall off.
