Abstract

Mr.LIAO Ming-chun contends that the character tong童 in tong niu 童牛(available in the forth line statement of hexagram Da Xu,the 26th hexagram in the received version of the Zhouyi) ought be a verb in his article published in the 1st issue of Zhouyi Yanjiu(Studies of Zhouyi) in 2007,meaning to get rid of something completely orto strip off.But this paper maintains that LIAO's opinion is untenable both textually and methodologically.
