Abstract
Objective: To investigate the expression of estrogen receptor(ER),progesterone receptor(PR) and p53 in the primary breast carcinoma and the relationship among the expression and the clinical stage, axillary lymph node metastasis and prognosis of the patients. Methods: The expression of ER,PR and p53 in 96 paraffin-embeded breast carcinoma and 10 hyperplastic disease of the breast tissues were studied with immunohistochemical technique(streptavidin biotin peroxidase,SP).To compare the positive rate of ER,PR and p53 in breast carcinoma with clinical stage, axillary lymph nodes metastasis. Results: The positive rate of expression of ER,PR and p53 in breast carcinoma were 60.4%,62.5%,59.4% respectively. No significant difference was found in the expression of ER,PR between hyperplastic diease of the breast and primary breast cancer(P0.05),while the difference of p53 expression was seen significantly between two groups(P0.05).There was not significant difference between expression of ER,PR and clinical stage(P0.05).But the expression of p53 in primary breast cancer increased remarkably as the clinical stage growing(P0.05).The expression of p53 in patients with axillary lymph node metastasis was significantly higher than that of without(P0.05),while ER and PR expression had the inverse result(P0.05).Conclusion: Combined detection of expression of ER,PR and p53 in primary breast carcinoma has practical value in prognosis of the patients and therapeutic effects.
