A new seedless grape cultivar——Hupei No.2

Hupei No.2 is a new seedless grape cultivar, derived from the cross between grape seedless cultivar Yangger and a tetraploid cultivar Zizhenxiang and obtained by means of in vitro ovule culture. The clusters are conical, well filled, with average weight of 350 g. The berries are uniform, elliptical in shape, weighing averagely 5.3 g, having a deep purple red skin. The flesh is moderately soft, containing a soluble solids content of 15% to 17%, titratable acidity of 0.65%. The vines are very vigorous and well adaptable to growing conditions. It is easy to form flower buds and bears early. It matures in mid-late July in Shanghai area.
