Clinical Efficacy of Danzhi Xiaoyao Powders with Small Dose of Venlafaxine for the Treatment of Postpartumde Pres-sion

Objective To explore the curative effect of Danzhi xiaoyao powders combined with small dose of venlafax- ine in the treatment of postpartum depression( PPD). Methods 82 patients with PPD from 2010 January to 2013 January in our hospital were chosen. The patients were randomly divided into control group and observation group. The control group of 40 cases were given Venlafaxine therapy,observation group of 42 cases were given Danzhi xiaoyao powders. Results After treat- ment HAMD score were decreased,as compared with that before treatment,the differences were statistically significant( P 0. 05). After treatment,the time period between two groups,the observation group was lower than the control group,the difference were statistically significant( P 0. 05). The clinical control rate and total effective rate of observation group were 66. 67% and 92. 86%,control group were 60% and 90%; the two groups,there were no significance differences between two groups( P 0. 05). Conclusion Danzhi xiaoyao powders combined with small dose of venlafaxine obviously improve the clini- cal symptoms of patients with PPD and life quality,curative effect is better than pure western medicine treatment.
