Abstract

OBJECTIVE:To study the relationships between the expression levels of Fas and Bax before and after radiotherapy and radiosensitivity.METHODS:The expression levels of Fas and Bax in biopsy samples from all the patients before and after radiotherapy were detected with the SP immunohistochemistry method in biopsy samples from 56 patients.RESULTS:Before and after radiotherapy, the expression levels of Fas were 0.47±0.23 and 0.61±0.17,respectively(P0.05),and the expression levels of Bax were 0.44±0.20 and 0.54±0.21,respectively(P0.05).The correlation between the expression levels of Fas and Bax before and after radiotherapy was positive(P0.05).The expression levels of Fas and Bax in biopsy samples before radiotherapy was positive to BM grades(P0.05).However,the correlation between the expression levels of Fas and Bax after radiotherapy and BM grades of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma were negative(P0.05).CONCLUSION:Fas and Bax proteins are the important parameters reflecting the radiosensitivity and predicting the radiotherapeutic effec of squamous cell carcinoma of esophagus.
