Therapeutic effect of Panlong Qipian on osteoarthritis of knee joint

Abstract
Objective To analyze the therapeutic effect of Panlong Qipian on osteoarthritis of knee joint. Methods 144 patients with osteoarthritis of knee joint were randomly divided into treatment group and control group. The 74 patients in treatment group were treated with Panlong Qipian; the other 70 patients in control group were treated with diclofenae, with a treatment course of 6 weeks for both groups. The therapeutic effect was evaluated after one treatment course. Results Before treatment there was no significant difference in age, sex and course of disease, the integrals of tenderness, rest pain, walking pain and morning rigidity of the knee joints between treatment group and control group(P0.05),however, after treatment there was a significant difference in the integrals of above functional assessment between the two groups(P0.05),and The short-term effective rate in treatment group was significantly higher than that of control group(P0.05).IL-6 and TNF decreased markedly after administration of Panlong QipianConclusion pill of Panlong Qipian is effective in treating osteoarthritis of knee joint.
