Abstract

【Objectives】 To estimate blood lead level of randomly sampled 1 139 children aged 2~6 years in Shaoguan, and to identify high-relate factors for lead poisoning of children. 【Methods】 Blood lead level were measured in randomly sampled 1 139 preschool children aged 2~6 years for 8 kindergartens in Shaoguan,28 potentially related factors of all involved children in Shaoguan were investigated with self-designed questionnaire. 【Results】 The mean blood lead level was 0.47 μmol/L,and 455 children(39.95%) were found with a blood lead level ≥0.483 μmol/L(the diagnostic crterion of lead poisoning of children). The highest mean blood lead level(0.53 μmol/L) was found in children forn industrial area,so were chidren aged 5 years.Mutiple regression analysis showed that badly sanitation habit, passive smoking, lead related occupation of family were the risk factors affecting blood lead level, however, dairy produce was protect factor. 【Conclusion】 Blood lead levels of children aged 2~6 years in Shaoguan and the prevalence of lead poisoning were both relatively high,to which enough attention should be paid.
