Abstract
According to the production capacity required by growing demand of automobile industry and after study the assembling process of disk brake,particle swarm algorithm were proposed for design the assembling line. Two particle swarm algorithms were used for solving simple assembly line balancing problem and U-shape assembly line balancing problem. The solver program was programmed and a method called accelerating stratagem is adopted to avoid the particles falling in to the locally optimal solutions. Finally,the effectiveness of this two algorithms is indicated by designing the assembly line of disk brake and U-shape assembly line is better for increasing the production rate.
