Application experience on Sitagliptin combined with Insulin Glargine in the treatment of diabetes mellitus

Objective To study the effect of Sitagliptin combined with Insulin Glargine in the treatment of diabetes mellitus.Methods Forty-six patients with incipient diabetes were selected as research object in our hospital from November 2011 to April 2012,and they were randomly divided into observation group (Sitagliptin combined with Insulin Glargine group) and control group (Acarbose combined with Insulin Glargine group),with 23 cases in each group,then the curative effect of two groups were compared.Results The time of observation group's blood glucose achieving goal was shorter than that of control group,the final dose of Insulin Glargine was smaller than that of control group,all P 0.05,there were all significant differences.Conclusion The Sitagliptin combined with Insulin Glargine in the treatment of diabetes mellitus is confirmed.
