Abstract
The vertical ship elevator in the Yantan Hydropower Station has been successfully completed. Its navigation provides good opportunity for the development of navigation structures for high dams of hydropower projects in China. The Yantan Hydropower Station firstly adopted the vertical ship elevator with steel cable winding. This new ship elevator has the same speed of main lifting system and the balancing output, which makes great progress in the reliability and safety of the ship elevator and reaches advanced international level.
