Abstract
This paper provides a basic design method of Taut-wire mooring systems.Based on a numerical example, key steps of Taut-wire mooring systems design, such as dynamic analysis of mooring lines, calculation of moored float motions and verification of special moors investigated by computations, the result shows that the feasibility and effectiveness of adopting Taut-wire mooring systems for deepwater semi-submersible platforms orientation are verified.
