Abstract

In this paper attribute data and spatial data of GIS are introduced firstly. Then the classification of the indexing of spatial data and respective character of R-tree indexing and quadtree indexing and details should be noticed while creating indexing are detailedly set forth. Finally respective advantages and suitable conditions of this two classes of indexing are compared whick providing standards for selecting appropriate indexing.
