Abstract

Objective To explore Clinical significance of of platelet parameters and mean corpuscular volume in Type 2 diabetic microangiopathy disease. Methods The platelet count(PLT),mean platelet volume(MPV),platelet pressure accumulates(PCT),platelet distribution width(PDW),mean corpuscular volume(MCV),erythrocyte hemoglobin distribution Type 2 width(RDW) and fasting plasma glucose(FPG) were measured in 100 cases with diabetes(50cases with microangiopathy,50 cases without microangiopthy) and 90 healthy controls. Results The levels of MPV,PDW,MCV and RDW were higher and PCT level was lower in type 2 diabetes patients. Those platelet parameters were significantly high in patients with microangiopath than those in controls(P0.01,P0.05).The level of MPV,PDW and FPG were higher than those in patients without microangiopath(P0.05).There was positive correlation between the levels of MPV and FPG in diabetes with and without microangiopathy groups(r=0.77,P0.01) and between the levels of MPV and PDW(r=0.4,P0.01).Conclusion The measurement of MPV has very important clinical value in the early diagnosis of diabetes with microangiopathy.
