Abstract
Objective: To investigate the significance of 4 parameters of platelet and red cell defomation index(DI) in patients with diabetes meillitus (DM). Methods: The levels of mean platelet volume (MPV), plateletcrit (PCT), platelet distributionwide (PDW), platelet (PLT) and DI were measured with special analysor in 100 patients with DM. Eighty healthy volunteers served as controls. Results: Compared with the levels of controls, those of MPV, PCT and PDW were obviously higher and those of DI were lower, especially in the patients with micrangium lesens. There were a positive correlation between MPV and fasting blood-glucose (FPG) (r = 0.673, P0.01) and a negative correlation between DI and FPG( r = -0.412,P0.05). Conclusion: The micrangium lesens in patients with DM may be diagnosed, prevented and cured by monitoring the levels of MPV, PCT, PDW and DI.
