Utilizing the shift-share analysis, this article from the angle of industry structure and industry competitiveness analyzes the differences of economic growth in Hunan province and shows that Hunan province has made progress in optimizing of its industrial structure and the level of industrialization is improving. However, the driving of the industrial structure and competitiveness to the economic growth has obvious geographical differences, there is obvious advantages in the industrial structure and competitiveness in Changsha. and not in the most districts else. Therefore, these districts should follow the quality and efficiency-oriented road of industrialization of agriculture, increase the pace of industrialization, develop vigorously the industry clusters based the region's dominant industries and special industries, and enhancing the advantage and proportion of the second industry and the third industry.
