Abstract
Under the spatial structure model of single center, concentric circle ,urban functions of Beijing converge in central districts, brings about serious traffic jams and environmental pressures, restraining the expansion of integrated load-bearing capacity of Beijing, and showing negative impacts on the sustainable development of Beijing. A lot of metropolitans, like Tokyo and Paris, have planned and constructed sub-centers to solve spatial structure contradictions. This article suggests the government plan three sub-centers in west of Beijing,Tongzhou-Yizhuang District and Shunyi District to optimize the spatial structure of Beijing metropolitan area.
