Abstract

The experiments were conducted to investigate the effects of different lights, temperatures, substrates, growth regulators and stratification treatments of on seed germination of Macropanax rosthornii. The results show that the germination rate and germination velocity were higher under the periodic light conditions than in dark.Different temperatures influenced seed germination significantly(p 0.05);the seed germination rate was highest at 15 ℃ but the seed can not germinate above 35 ℃;the substrates were also important factors that affected the seed germination significantly and from high to low of germination rate were agar(27%),filter paper(24%),soil(15%),sand(13%),perlite(7%);The effects of NAA and salicylic acid on germination rate of M.rosthornii seeds were not notable,GA3 had a significant effect on germination of seed(p 0.05),and its optimal concentration was 50 mg.L-1;the treatments of stratification effected seed germination significantly(p 0.05);the sand storage increased the seed germination index by 3.4 times, the germination rate increased by 2.0 times, the time of germination advanced by 10 days and the root length increased by 85.93% as compared with those in the non-sand storage.
