Abstract
Polyacrylate emulsions were synthesized by seeding semi-continuous emulsion polymerization with the polymerizable emulsifier ammonium sulfate allyoxy nonylphonoxy poly(ethyleneoxy)(10) ether(DNS-86).Effects of the type of surfactants, the amount of DNS-86,the amount of initiator and reactive temperature on the properties of the emulsion and films were discussed. The structure and morphology of products were characterized by FT-IR and TEM,obtaining the best synthesis condition. The results showed that the conversion rate of monomers was increased and polymerization stability was effectively improved by using polymerizable emulsifier DNS-86.The mechanical properties and water resistance of films were markedly improved with the increase of DNS-86 amount.
