Strategic Ponderation over Ecological Building of the Changjiang River Basin

The Changjiang River basin is vast in territory, complicated natural environment, diversified species community, severe artificial interference and serious soil and water loss. At present, the following aspects should be conducted well for ecological building in the river basin: a) To strengthen the protective awareness of ecological environment; b) To take living and working in peace and contentment as presupposition; c) To establish new ideas on prevention and control; d) To solve the issue of water in real earnest; e) To persist in taking a small watershed as a management unit; f) To persist in the principle of one planning and; g) To pay great attention to the prevention and control work of land slides, debris flow and collapse.
