Abstract
They are both great masters of Confucianism. Mencius inherits Confucius in theory. But the contrast is obvious. The former scholars’ mediation can’t reflect the truth of history. The mediation not only denies the phase and development of the knowledge, but also can’t be helpful to the accurate comprehension of Confucius and Mencius.
