Abstract

Objective:To compare the effect of two airway humidity therapy with continuous and discontinuous endotracheal instillation after tracheotomy.Methods:52 patients after tracheotomy were divided into two groups:patients in group A underwent continuous endotracheal instillation and the ones in group B underwent discontinuous endotracheal instillation. Results:The effective rate for group A and B was 86.2% and 52.17% respectively. The incidence of insufficient humidification for group A and B was 0.001% and 8.7% separately. Conclusion:Continuous endotracheal instillation possesses the advantages of satisfactory effect, low incidence of pulmonary infection and of phlegm plug.It is worth popularizing in clinical activity.
