32 CASES OF LOW-GRADE JAUNDICE DUE TO CHRONIC HEPATITIS AND HEPATOCIRRHOSIS TREATED WITH WENYANG QUYU HUATAN DECOCTION

Objective:To evaluate the curative effect and safety of Wenyang Quyu Huatan(WYQYHT) decoction (a Chinese preparation for warming yang,removing blood stasis,resovling phelgm)in the clinical treatment of low grade jaundice due to chronic hepatitis and hepatocirrhosis.Method:62 cases were divided into two groups on the principle of single blindness,randomness and control.32 cases in treatment group were treated with WYQYHT decoction,and the control group were treated with Liangxue Huoxue decoction (a Chinese preparation for activating blood and removing heat from blood).The treatment for both groups lasted 12 weeks.Result:The therapeutic effects on jaundice and clinical symptoms in the treatment group were better than those in the control group.There was marked difference in the varied figures of blood bilirubin between the two groups at the first 8 weeks,and the difference was still significant after treatment for 12 weeks.While no obvious side effects were observed in the treatment group,two cases of the control group were interrupted because of ordure blood.Conclusion:WYQYHT decoction has confirmatory effect on low grade jaundice due to chronic hepatitis and hepatocirrhosis,and it is safe.
