An Analysis of HBV Infection among Freshmen In a College Within Five Years

Abstract

Objective To understand HBV infection on freshmen and to provide the preventive basis for Hepatitis B. Method The survey of HBsAg tests was done on freshmen in a certain college from 2005 to 2009.The carriers of HBsAg were given the tests of the five items of hepatitis B. Results HBsAg positive rate is 6.98%,with two main infection types-HBsAg,HBeAg,HBcAb,and HBsAg,HBcAb,HBcAb. The detection rate is 31.31% and 35.65% respectively,accounting for 66.96% of all the HBV infection types. Conclusion The detection rate of HBV infection in this college is lower than the national average level. Hence,importance should be attached to it and the students who have not keen infected by HBV should receive a vaccine for B soon after entering the college.
