The Comparison Between SIMA Qian and LI Zhi

Although SIMA Qian and LI Zhi lived far in different historical ages, they had many similarities.LI Zhi inherited and developed SIMA Qian's theory of Writing books Passionately,and their own works provided best explanation of the theory.Their motivations and purposes of recording history were identical, and so were their views on history. That explained why LI Zhi disproved of some historians criticizing SIMA Qian. However,due to different ideas on economy,they differed in appraising the economic policy of Emperor Wu of the Han and the policy makers. Holding the traditional thought of people are the most basic,their ideas attached great importance and care to the subject with enlightening significance.
