Abstract

In China's historical field, Ouyang Xiu was a great historian and literary master who achieved most in carrying on Sima Qian's styles. Like Sima Qian, he showed the iron willed nature in moral quality and followed Sima Qian's historical thoughts in historiography. In the aspect of literary thinking, he not only carried on and expanded writing books with a will and put forward the theory of achieving success after suffering repeated setbacks but also enjoyed the romantic charm of Sima Qian's literary creation.
