Evaluation of Platelet Count by the SYSMEX XE-2100 Blood cell Analyzer in Giant platelet Disease

Abstract

Objective To evaluate the credibility of blood platelet count In the patients with many Giant platelet by Sysmex XE-2100 Blood cell Analyzer.Methods We counted the platelets with resistant method,laser method and microscopic method(reference method),and analyzed the correlation between the results of resistant method and laser method.Results In the patients with many Giant platelets,the Giant PLT count determined by the methods of PLT-O and microscopy showed difference(P0.05),the methods of PLT-I and PLT-O showed signi cant difference(P0.01),the methods of PLT-I and microscopy showed difference(P0.05).Conclusion For patients with many Giant platelets,use the Sysmex XE-2100 analyzer to count the Giant PLT can't use PLT-I,PLT-O can improve the PLT count,but can't exact count the Giant PLT,microscopic method is an accurate way to assay platelets of the patients with many Giant platelet sample.To observe the blood smear by microscopic Can confirm Giant platelet from morphology.
