Abstract
Objective To investigate the effects of enteral nutrition(EN) in treatment of severe acute pancreatitis(SAP).Methods 52 cases of SAP were retrospectively analyzed and divided into EN Group(27 cases) and General Group(25 cases)by whether had an EN regimen. The therapeutic modality, clinical results,APACHEⅡ score, serum albumin and prealbumin were compared between them during hospital stay. Results All cases were cured except six cases developed pseudocysts.EN began at about the 5th day after admission and the patients were well tolerated. The improvement of APACHEⅡ score of EN group was more significant than that of general group(P0.05).Serum albumin and prealbumin of EN group were higher than that of general group(P0.05) after EN.Conclusions EN was safe, feasible and easy to put into practice.Reasonable applications may significantly improve the nutritional status of the SAP patients.
