Abstract
Mathematical models of batch distillation column were presented and were used as S-function in MATLAB/SIMULINK,to simplify programming. Rigorous thermodynamics model was used in phase equilibrium calculation. Batch distillation process for separating C5(i-pentane,n-pentane) of two raw materials was studied. Corresponding relation of time of drawing product versus reflux ratio was analyzed and fit operating reflux ratio was determined. Results of batch distillation simulation were used to rate tower and heat exchangers in PRO/II and suitable flow of drawing product was obtained according to rating results. This provided reference for design and operation of batch distillation.
