Abstract

Objective To systematicaly analyse the chemical constituents of essential oil in the leaves of Curcuma kwangsiensis, compare the traditional part of the root tubers and rhizome in order to find the differences between them in the components. Methods The chemical components were studied by GC-MS. Results Thirty-eight peaks appeared in GC,twenty-four compounds were determined, among which ten components were the same as their root and rhizome. Conclusion The chemical constituents in the leaves are different from that in the root tubers, but the leaves still contain many active components, such as eucalyptol,so the leaves have some medical use.
