Comparative study of Calcipotriol Betamethasone Ointment and Calcipotriol Ointment with Narrow-band Ultraviolet B in the Treatment of Psoriasis vulgaris in stable phase

Objective To observe the efficacy and safety of calcipotriol betamethasone ointment and calcipotriol ointment with narrow-band ultraviolet B( NB-UVB) in the treatment of Psoriasis vulgaris. Methods Sixty patients of Psoriasis vulgaris were randomly divided into two groups:Thirty patients in the treatment group were treated with calcipotriol betamethasone ointment once a day in the evening,thirty patients in the control group were treated with calcipotriol ointment twice daily, combinded with NB-UVB treatment three times in a week, the duration of treatment was 4-week. Results After 2 weeks of the treatment, the effective rate in the treatment group was 33.33%,which was higher than that in the control group(10.00%). The difference between the two groups was significant (P0.05). No statistical difference was observed after 4 weeks between the two groups(P0.05). Adverse events mainly included pruritus, folliculitis. Conclusion It is effective and safe to treat Psoriasis vulgaris using calcipotriol betamethasone ointment and calcipotriol ointment with NB-UVB,but calcipotriol betamethasone ointment takes effect faster than calcipotriol ointment.
