TOPICAL CALCIPOTRIOL OINTMENT THERAPY COMBINATION WITH ORAL PI MIN XIAO CAPSULE TREATMENT IN PLAQUE PSORIASIS VULGARIS

Objective To observe the clinical effect of topical Calcipotriol ointment combination with or without oral Chinese medicine Pi Min Xiao in the treatment of plaque psoriasis vulgaris.Methods 94 patients with plaque psoriasis vulgaris were randomly divided into the topical Calcipotriol ointment therapy group and the topical Calcipotriol ointmen therapy combination with Pi Min Xiao capsule treatment group.The patients in these two groups received continuous treatment for 12 weeks.After 4,8,12 weeks, clinical effect and Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI) score were evaluated and recorded between in two groups.Results The total recovery and effective rates in the topical Calcipotriol ointment therapy group was lower than that the topical Calcipotriol ointmen therapy combination with Pi Min Xiao capsule group (p0.05).There were significant differences between the two groups in the PASI score in the 8th week and the 12th week later (p0.05).Relapse rate of the former was higher than the latter (p0.05).Conclusion In the treatment of plaque psoriasis vulgaris, topical Calcipotriol ointment therapy combination with Pi Min Xiao capsule is shown to be more efficacious than the topical Calcipotriol ointment, and more faster and safer.
