WENG Tong-he and the Imperial Court Education in the Late Qing Dynasty

Imperial court education is to educate imperial family members. During the thirsty years of the late Qing Dynasty, Weng Tonghe participated in or directed the education. By adapting teaching methods and materials to the changing society, and by integrating modern Western culture with Eastern traditional one, he explored his expertise in education and took great pains to train and shape the Emperor Guang Xu , who was ambitious and determined to carry out political reform during that period of history .This is a representation of his thoughts concerning administration , loyalty and patriotism in imperial court education. And it is also his remarkable contribution to Constitutional Reform and Modernization.
