Abstract
Objective To assess the credibility of Sysmex XS-1000i automated hematology analyzer for warning morphologically abnormal cells. Methods One hundred and fifty specimens with warning signal and 50 specimens without warning signal indicated by the analyzer were classified by direct microscopic enumeration. Results With the results of microscopic enumeration as the reference the coincidence rate of blasts, atypical lymphocyte, immature granulocyte(IG) and nucleated red blood cell(NRBC) were 82%,75%,63% and 60% respectively. Conclusion The technical performance of Sysmex XS-1000i automated hematology analyzer is good for the detection of morphologically abnormal cells. This analyzer is of high credibility. However it can not be used as a substitute for microscopic examination.
