Clinical Significance of Detecting Reticulocyte Parameters by CoulTER Jen's Blood Analyzer

Objective To investigate the clinical significance of the lens reflex reticulocyte(High Laser Reticulocyte,HLR) parameters detected by coulter Jen's blood analyzer in patients with various types of anemia,and explore the application range.Methods The reference scope was made statistically by 80 normal blood samples.The mean value of HLR was observed in 110 specimens from anemia patients,and the difference among different types of anemia was compared.The reticulocyte maturity(IRF) and its relevance to HLR were also analyzed statistically.Results The mean value of HLR was 0.42% from normal control and 1.88% from anemia patients.The mean value of HLR from aplastic anemia,acute leukemia,hemolytic anemia,iron-deficiency anemia,megaloblastic anemia,chronic nephritis and cancer were 0.11%,0.32%,3.2%,0.88%,1.06%,0.86%,1.26% respectively.Conclusions The detection of reticulocyte parameters is helpful to the diagnosis of anemia patients,judging for the severity and prognosis and guiding clinical administer.The sensitivity and accuracy of IRF and HLR was higher than that of RET.
