The Theoretical Base of the Subject Curriculum and Its Organizational Principles

Subject curriculum has developed for a long period of time.This research paper analyzes the organizing principles of subject curriculum and makes a further reflection on subject curriculum theory.Traditional subject curriculum focuses on the reproduction and preservation of culture,which has its positive sides,but also has its limitations.This theory takes the philosophic entity thinking way.It considers students as an entity but ignores students' initiative;considers the knowledge as an entity but ignores the organic combination of students and knowledge.The subject curriculum organization is no other than the organization of the entitative knowledge.Therefore,the education which is under the guidance of the traditional subject curriculum has an obvious defect.
