CONTRASTIVE STUDY ON JIASHI STRONG EARTHQUAKE SWARM IN XINJIANG AND OTHER TYPICAL STRONG EARTHQUAKE SWARMS

Abstract

The article studies 9 strong earthquake swarms of with the magnitude M_S≥6.0 at home and abroad,which shows strong earthquake swarm sequence is characteristics of great magnitude and high frequency,frequent mid-strong aftershocks,and aftershock decay fluctuating and lasting long time,small earthquake activity quiescence before mid-strong earthquake.Comparing with main-aftershock type earthquake,swarm is characteristics of big b value and small p value,and sequence decay is getting slow after the last major earthquake,and the aftershocks of most earthquakes distribute in conjugated shape,and focus depth and rupture direction of major earthquake are diverse,and rupture is successive.Jiashi strong earthquake swarm of Xin Jiang is similar to Jazily strong swarm of Uzbekistan,not only time stage of seiesmicity,but distributing form of energy release with time,and aftershocks distribute in conjugated shape.Migration of major earthquake extends to multi-sides,and mid-small earthquakes appear quiescent before strong earthquakes.According to frequency and strength,aftershock frequency and strength are weak after the first group strong earthquakes of the two strong earthquake swarm,and high after the second group ones,and highest after the third group ones.
