On the Dynamic Characteristics of the Economic Convergence and Divergence in the Yangtze River Delta——an Empirical Study Based on the "Core-Periphery Model"

The theoretical and practical significance of researching the dynamic characteristics of the economic convergence and divergence in an economic region lies in its offering some guidance to the flowing of the economic factors,optimizing the spatial structure in regional development and promoting regional competitiveness.The current empirical study,based on core-periphery model,makes a systemic analysis into the dynamic characteristics of the economic convergence and divergence in the Yangtze River Delta,concluding that the current economic convergence is still positioned in the transitional stage towards industrialization and that the integrated planning should be strengthened to promote the harmonious development of the regional economy.
