Abstract
This experiment was conducted to study the effects of compound Lactobacillus preparation on growth performance, immune function and cecal microflora of layer chicks. Three hundred and sixty 1 day of age Hy-line brown chicks were selected and divided into five groups with six replicates per group and 12 chicks per replicate. The five groups were fed the basal diet supplemented with 0,0.05%,0.10%,0.15% and 0.20% compound Lactobacillus preparation respectively. The experiment lasted for 42 days. The results were as follows:the supplementation of Lactobacillus preparation could increase daily weight gain and thymus index, reduce feed to weight gain ratio(P0.05),and the supplementation of compound Lactobacillus preparation could decrease the number of Escherichia coli and Clostridium perfringens(P0.05),and significantly increase the number of lactic acid bacteria and Bifidobacterium in caecum(P0.05). In conclusion, the supplementation of compound Lactobacillus preparation could improve growth performance, promote the development of immune organs, and improve the balance of intestinal flora in layer chicks. The suitable supplementation level of dietery compound Lactobacillus preparation for layer chicks was 0.1%.
