Referential Metonymy in the Cognitive Perspective

Currently,the cognitive study of referential metonymy is focused on from the perspective of the conceptual contiguity,which extends the traditional study of spatial contiguity.However,this view has shortcomings,such as conceptual vagueness of cognitive domain,unclear understanding of conceptual contiguity,and unexploration of the factors influencing conventional metonymy and novel metonymy.The research combining cognitive schema with non-linguistic factors provides us with a new perspective to study referential metonymy.
