NOTES ON CHINESE SPECIES OF SCAPHOIDEUS WITH DESCRIPTIONS OF NINE NEW SPECIES (HOMOPTERA:CICADELLIDAE:EUSCELINAE)

A list including 37 species of the genus Scaphoideus from China is provided,in which 9 species are described as new to science.Type specimens are deposited in the Institute of Entomology,Guizhou University.1 Scaphoideus midvittatus (Figs.1-6) Length(incl.teg.):♂4.8-5.0*!mm, ♀5.0-5.2*!mm. The new species is allied to Scaphoideus rufilineatus Li in appearance and colour pattern,but can be distinguished from the latter by the paraphysis expanded at end,subgenital plate with two sturdy setae and shape of aedeagus also different. Holotype♂,paratypes 5♂♂,9♀♀,Xishui(28°30′N,106°12′E), Guizhou Province,21-22 Sep.2000,coll. LI Zi-Zhong and WANG Lian-Min.2 Scaphoideus dentaedeagus (Figs.7-12) Length(incl.teg.):♂5.5-5.8*!mm, ♀5.8-6.0*!mm. This species is similar to Scaphoideus testaceous Li,but differs from the latter in: antemargin of crown with a well-blanced black transverse line,pronotum flavote-staceou,aedeagus and paraphysis with teeth. Holotype♂, paratypes 2♂♂,3♀♀,Chishui (28°35′N,105°42′E),Guizhou Province,2 June 2000,coll. LI Zi-Zhong and WANG Lian-Min.3 Scaphoideus guizhouensis sp.nov. (Figs.13-19) Length(incl.teg.):♂5.2*!mm. The new species is related to Scaphoideus dentaedeagus Liet Wang, sp.nov.in appearance and colour pattern,but differs from the latter in antemargin of crown with a black transeverse line,the basal area of face with four black parallel arched lines,aedeagus stick-like and shape of paraphysis also different. Holotype♂, Xishui,(28°30′N,106°12′E),Guizhou Province,29 May 2000,coll. LI Zi-Zhong .4 Scaphoideus dentatestyleus sp.nov. (Figs.20-25) Length(incl.teg.):♂5.8-6.1*!mm, ♀6.4-6.8*!mm. This species is allied to Scaphoideus albomaculatus Li, but differs from the latter in the the crown with a fuscescent broad transverse streak, and which antemargin with a black line,aedeagus sword-like and end of style with small teeth. Holotype♂,paratypes 1♂,2♀♀,Chishui(28°35′N,105°42′E),Guizhou,Province,30 Aug. 2000,coll. LI Zi-Zhong;1♀,Xishui(28°30′N,106°12′E),Guizhou Province,2 June 2000,coll. LI Zi-Zhong.5 Scaphoideus widesternanus (Figs.26-31) Length(inc1.teg.):♂4.8-5.0*!mm, ♀5.2-5.6*!mm. This species is colsely realated to Scaphoideus testaceous Li,but can be distinguished from the latter by aedeagus stick-shaped,paraphysis turned at end,the basal area of the face with three transverse black lines. Holotype♂,paratypes 2♂♂,4♀♀,Zhalantun(48°05′N,122°45′E),Nei Mongol Autonomous Region,28-29 Aug.1996,coll. LI Zi-Zhong.6 Scaphoideus spiniplateus sp.nov. (Figs.32-37) Length(incl.teg.):♂6.0*!mm, ♀6.2*!mm. The new species is similar to Scaphoideus nigrigenatus Li in appearance and colour pattern,but differs from the latter in: frontoclypeus with two black parallel arched lines,subgenital plate transverse wrinkles at end,and which with a long process at middle,aedeagus shape distinctly different. Holotype♂,paratype 1♂,Lijiang (26°45′N,100°15′E),Yunnan Province,11 Aug.2000,coll. LI Zi-Zhong.7 Scaphoideus graciliplateus (Figs.38-43) Length(incl.teg.):♂5.3-5.5*!mm, ♀5.5-5.8*!mm. This new species is related to Scaphoideus widesternanus Li et Wang, sp.nov.in appearence and colour pattern,but differs in the antemargin of crown with a even black line,postmargin of seventh sternum protruding,subgenital plate slender, and the shape of aedeagus also different. Holotype♂,paratypes 2♂♂,3♀♀,Pianma (26°05′N,98°40′E),Yunnan Province,16 Aug.2000,coll.LI Zi-Zhong and YANG Mao-Fa. 8 Scaphoideus bimaculatus (Figs.44-49) Length(incl.teg.):♂5.1*!mm. This new species resembles Scaphoideus albomaculatus Li,but differs from the latter in its small size,and colour pattern of crown,pronotum and scutellum also distinctly different.
